Enjoyed a GREAT Stamp-a-Stack
I haven't posted for a few days. I was busy getting ready for the Holiday Stamp-a-Stack at my house yesterday...Wow - I had such a good time. I met new friends, had fun with old friends, and enjoyed myself emensly. I've posted a few of the 5 cards we did yesterday but I will be posting more in the next day or so. Its such a busy time of year for crafters. I have one more event then I'm going to take it easy until January, where I will have lots of Sale-a-bration events planned. Stay tuned for announcements. You can also check out my Stampin' UP! Website for a complete listing of all my events.
I hope everyone has as great a weekend as I did. I'm off tomorrow (yeah, no work) and will be crafting all day in preparation for a small craft show at the YMCA in Marsville, OH on Tuesday night 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. If you have time stop by and check it out.
Happy Stamping!!

Love the Shimmer Paint!

You can't tell how 'shimmery' it is in the photo but trust me, it is. I used the new Stampin' UP! Frost Shimmer paint mixed in alcohol (and yes, that's 'rubbing alcohol' ;-), spritzed onto the green card stock then used the heat tool to dry it. Then I ran it through the BigShot using a texture plate. Next I used versamark for the pine trees and white embossing powder. Make sure to press down hard since you are stamping on a textured/dry embossed cardstock.
To make the ornament punch out I stamped the image on white cardstock, then patted my versamark pad over the image, applied Irridescent ice embossing powder and set it with the heat tool. After it cooled off I used the ornament punch to punch it out. LOVE IT. It's much cuter in person ;-)

Dasher Holiday Card
Hi Everyone. Ok, I have cased a card a time or two, however, never this bad - ha. I generally change it up quite a bit. Well, this one is from a Stampin' UP! Wow DVD that is available to demonstrators. I think the Demonstrator's name on the video is Mary Ellis (I will double check when I get my DVD out again). The technique I was learning was how to make the sun and the snow mound for the reindeer to stand on.
To make the sun, simply punch out a 1 3/8" circle in a post-it note. Place the post-it note with the circle punched out of it on your card. Use a dauber and apply More Mustard ink in circular motions around the inside of the circle making sure to make the ink a little darker on the bottom for shading.
To make the snow mound for the reindeer to stand on simply tear a regular piece of paper and place it at the hooves of the reindeer. (you will need to 'mask' the sun, so using the circle that was punched out of the post-it note earlier place that circle over the sun to cover it. You can use a little dotto to help hold the circle in place.) Next, using a sponge (not a dauber) dab the sponge in Bashful Blue ink and in circular motion go over the entire sky area clear down to the torn paper that will be making the mound. As you get lower to the ground (paper mound) make the ink a little darker) When you pull the paper away you will have a white mound. I then took my two-way glue and traced the outline top of the mound then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds. This is really EASY. Just practice a couple of times. And for those of you attending my Holiday Stamp-a-Stack on Dec 5th, this is not one of the cards we'll be making. I wasn't sure it was what you all would want to make several of. If you want me to show you how to do it on the 5th I would be more than happy to.

Just saying HOWDY and introducing my new granddaughter

Its true what they say, grandkids get away with stuff that their parents never did - ha. My two grandsons, Timothy is 3 and Johnny is 18mos and they definitely get to do things that I would never have let their moms ;-)
I will need to start her scrapbook soon.

Supposed to be getting ready for Techniques class

Also, I know we are taught "oh it's ok to leave the inside of the cards blank. That gives people a place to write" well, I'm finding that isn't necessarily true. I have a few things in a shop in Illinois and the owner was getting feedback that I needed to put something on the inside of the card as well as the outside. So, I spent a great deal of time pre-cutting a bunch of Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock down to fit the inside of a bunch of cards I made. You know, it DOES look MUCH better and gives a much better appearance. Thanks Barbara and Jo - you two ROCK.
I did decorate the inside of this card but the picture didn't turn out so great so I didn't post it. Surprisingly I used several stamp sets on this card. Harvest Home, Autumn Harvest, Autumn Splendor, and Falling Leaves. I stamped the images in black and then used the Pastels to color.
